Stock up on some of the most delicious pork that is humanely raised on our farm. We raise our pigs on pasture and supplement their feed with certified organic grains. No antibiotics, hormones or GMOs! Your support helps us be the best ecological and humane stewards we can be by planting cover crops, practice rotational grazing, and allowing pigs to be pigs. We feed our pigs the best of the best so you can count on the highest quality pork to yourself and family.

We started breeding and farrowing our own piglets in 2023, but 2024 has been a really difficult year for us. We lost both of our sows during and after the farrowing (birthing) process, so the bulk of our 2024 pigs are from other farms. All of the hogs we raise are rotated on pasture and given organically-approved supplements to boost their health and treat any parasites.

The price for a whole hog is $4.50/lb hanging weight and a half hog is $4.75/lb hanging weight. You are responsible for the processing fees. Hanging weight is the weight of the carcass after slaughter, but before butchering. We are anticipating the average hanging weights for a whole hog to be between 170-210 lbs. The final cuts weight is roughly 70% of the hanging weight.

Whole Hog Example

180 lbs. hanging weight x $4.50/lb + $260 processing = $1,070 (roughly 130 lbs. finished cuts)

  • 15-20 lbs bacon

  • 20-28 lbs ham roasts or steaks

  • 2 packages of pork shanks (uncured or smoked)

  • 15-20 lbs pork chops

  • 1 bag of lard (optional)

  • 25-30 lbs shoulder roasts or steaks

  • 2-4 packages of spare ribs, depending on size of cut

  • 20-35 lbs ground pork (can be made into breakfast or italian sausages or left plain) - you get to pick two options with a whole hog.

The processing cost is variable and you get to personally select which cuts you would like. We estimate the cost to be around $260 for a whole hog. The pork will be available around the middle and end of December and can be picked up directly from Lake Haven Meats in Sturgeon Lake, Minn., on-farm or by pre-arranged home delivery. As it has been a difficult year for us, there is a chance we may take a break in 2025 from raising pigs for bulk meat. Farming is ever evolving and we do not know at this time what our plans will be. We just wanted to note it here for you.
